Since the beginning of this year, Wanbo New Materials Company has vigorously advocated and organized activities such as energy conservation and consumption reduction, technological innovation, and talent cultivation for all employees. Various departments and workshops have actively participated in these activities, and the trend continues to rise, with significant results. The welding work of the grinding roller and disc in the thermal power center is usually completed by outsourcing units in the early stage, which leads to drawbacks such as reduced boiler efficiency, large maintenance of the grinding machine, and an annual welding cost of over 1 million yuan during the production process.

Energy conservation and consumption reduction are deeply explored from the details. To overcome this detail drawback, Wang Chao, director of the Thermal Power Center, collaborated with consultant Luo Mingrong, maintenance director Yang Chuanjun, technician Wu Weiguo, and others to discuss and propose a bold idea of stacking grinding rollers and grinding discs by himself based on the welding situation of grinding rollers and grinding discs in 2024.
In May of this year, Wanbo New Materials purchased a set of automated welding equipment. After nearly two months of continuous learning and practice by the Thermal Power Center, it has been able to accurately control welding parameters, reduce energy consumption, electricity consumption, and welding wire quantity. At the same time, it adopts a layered welding process to reduce the number of welding times and extend the safe operation time of the grinding machine. By optimizing the welding process of grinding rollers and grinding discs and adopting a new high chromium alloy composite welding technology, the service life of grinding rollers and grinding discs has been extended by 3-6 months, the frequency of replacement has been reduced by 1-2 times per year, and the comprehensive cost of spare parts has been saved by more than 1 million yuan. This significantly improves the wear resistance performance of equipment and the operating efficiency of boilers, achieving a new breakthrough in comprehensive energy conservation and consumption reduction.

In order to build a talent pool, the Thermal Power Center has also organized relevant employees to learn about the new grinding machine welding technology. Currently, a team of more than ten people led by Yang Chuanjun has been trained, and they have basically mastered the new welding technology, cultivating and exercising new technical talents.
At present, all welding work and grinding roller assembly support repair work in the Wanbo New Materials factory area are completed by the thermal power center maintenance team, achieving a dual reduction in energy consumption and equipment maintenance costs, while greatly reducing operational safety risks, providing a demonstration case for production safety, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement.
